The primary Chinese class focuses on the training of basic Chinese knowledge. While continuing to consolidate the basic knowledge of Chinese, Chinese intermediate classes strengthen the improvement of reading skills and the cultivation of writing ability. While further consolidating and improving the ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing in Chinese, advanced Chinese classes pay attention to guiding students to understand China culture and society more comprehensively and accurately.
Students can transfer to the "Chinese (foreign language) undergraduate major" of the college, and some academic achievements and learning experiences during their Chinese study can be recognized and transferred to the total undergraduate credits after confirmation.
Generally, after one or two years' study in an advanced Chinese class, students' Chinese level can meet the requirements of receiving undergraduate education in the same class as China students. Those whose language proficiency meets the requirements (HSK6 for science HSK3 and liberal arts) and meet the relevant conditions can be recommended by the college to study undergraduate majors in other departments of Sun Yat-sen University.
