With the approval of Shandong Provincial Department of Education, Dezhou City integrated the educational resources of high-quality normal schools and established Dezhou Senior Normal School (public). In September 2022, Pingyuan Normal School, Linyi Normal School and Dezhou Preschool Normal School were merged to run schools in a centralized way.

The school is located in Tianqu New District of Dezhou, adjacent to Dezhou East Railway Station in the east. Designed and built according to the standards of normal universities, it covers an area of 527 mu, with a building area of192,000 square meters and an infrastructure investment of 6,543.802 billion yuan. Has a high standard of modern teaching, sports and living facilities.

The school has a long history, which can be traced back to the fifth simple rural normal school established in Shandong Province in 193 1. The school is rooted in Qilu, adhering to the century-old motto of "learn to be a teacher and be a model", insisting on strengthening the country through education, and undertaking teacher training and teacher training in junior high schools, primary schools and kindergartens in the city.
