Guizhou Normal University, located in Guiyang, Guizhou Province, is a provincial key university with a comprehensive discipline layout featuring teacher education jointly established by the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and Guizhou Province. He was selected as one of the first-class discipline construction universities in Guizhou, including the discipline innovation and intelligence introduction program, the basic capacity building program of central and western universities, the excellent teacher training program, and the new engineering research and practice project.

The school was founded in 194 1, formerly known as National Guiyang Teachers College; 1950 changed its name to Guiyang Normal University; 1956, People's Republic of China (PRC) (China) Ministry of Education officially handed it over to Guizhou Provincial People's Government for management.

1958, Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to establish a new Guizhou University in the form of a joint school in Guiyang Normal University. 1959, Guizhou University left our school; 1985 was renamed as Guizhou Normal University; 1996 was identified as a provincial key university by Guizhou provincial people's government; In 2004, the former Guizhou Vocational and Technical College merged.
