Disabled children are mainly blind, deaf, mentally retarded, autistic and cerebral palsy children.

Some special education schools only admit a certain kind of disabled children, such as deaf schools, blind schools and low-vision children, and Qizhi schools (many children with cerebral palsy and autism also attend Qizhi schools now). Some special schools enroll all kinds of disabled children, and different types of children receive education in different classes.
