In June, 1959, three universities, including Harbin University of Chemical Technology, were cancelled and Harbin Chemical and Light Industry Secondary Specialized School was established. In July, the school was officially moved to the former site of Heilongjiang Light Industry School, announcing the formal establishment of Harbin Chemical Light Industry School.
During the period of 1959- 1963, the school gradually adjusted and improved its institutions, of which1960-1year was a period of vigorous development of the school. By March of 196 1, the number of teaching and administrative staff in the school had reached 238, including 60 teachers and 42 teachers (including college graduates), accounting for about 70% of the total number of teachers. By 1963, the school has eight party and government offices: General Party Branch, Youth League Committee, School Office, Academic Affairs Office, Personnel Office, Infrastructure Office, General Affairs Office and Production Force Office. There are also eight teaching and research groups.
1964 Harbin light chemical technology school was rebuilt on the basis of the original Harbin chemical technology school, with a school establishment of 127 students.

At the end of 1968, the Municipal Light Industry Bureau was split into two, and the Chemical Industry Bureau and the First Light Industry Bureau were established. The school administration was subordinate to the First Light Industry Bureau, so the school was renamed Harbin Light Industry School.
1969, according to the principle of document (69) 16, the higher authorities implemented the policy of "no pornography, no operation and no enrollment" for light industrial schools. By the beginning of 1970, the school staff was only 5 1 person.
1September, 973, Heilongjiang Revolutionary Committee issued a document agreeing to restore Harbin Light Industry School. There are 70 faculty members in the school, including teachers 18, 22 administrators and 30 workers.
1September, 1974, Light Industry School moved to its new campus-No.3, Wenzhi Erdao Street, Dongli District, Harbin.

The project "National 100 Demonstration Secondary Vocational Schools Construction Plan" is called "2 1 1 Project" for the construction of secondary vocational schools in China. From thousands of secondary vocational schools, the state will select 285 secondary vocational schools that are oriented to regional pillar industries, with accurate positioning, close integration of production and learning, outstanding reform results, good development potential and strong radiation ability for key support. This project started from 20 1 1 and was selected in three batches. It is of great significance for our school to enter the first batch of project schools. It will bring infinite vitality to the future development of our school.
In April, the school moved (the main campus-A campus was moved from No.0/3, Wenzhi Erdao Street, Xiangfang District, and B campus was moved from No.0/67, Daxin Street, Daowai District) to the new campus (No.0/68, Langjiang Road, Liqun New District).

This is a historic event.
