Introduction to post-industrial social theory
Postmodernism, as a social and cultural trend of thought, is the direct product of the post-industrial society in the West after World War II. "Post-industrial society" was first put forward by daniel bell, an American sociologist with a neo-conservative position. This theory holds that in industrial society, the standard of social stratification is ownership, while in post-industrial society, the standard of social stratification is knowledge and education. This is a knowledge society based on science, technology and information. In this way, the traditional mode of production and social structure have been destroyed.
