Continuing education is an important part of higher education in Guangxi University, which was founded in July 1964. 1991June, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Education Committee approved the establishment of Guangxi University Adult Education College. In June 2002, the Adult Education College of Guangxi University merged with the Vocational and Technical College to form the College of Continuing Education of Guangxi University. 65438-0984 started the self-study examination of higher education, and was one of the earliest examiners in Guangxi. At present, our school undertakes the examiner task of 25 majors and 22 undergraduate majors in the whole region. Examiners' majors involve science, engineering, agriculture, teaching, literature, law, economics, management and philosophy, accounting for about half of Guangxi's majors. The college has been designated as the test center and training point for the national computer grade examination, public English examination system, national Cambridge international secretary certificate and other social professional grade certificate examinations. It is the continuing education and training base of the Personnel Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the agricultural extension and training center of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the Nanning branch of the cadre training center in poverty-stricken areas of China. The teaching achievement "Exploration and Practice of Adult Education Development in Colleges and Universities" won the third prize 1997 of outstanding teaching achievement in the autonomous region, which is the only award-winning project of adult higher education in Guangxi.

There are 62 undergraduate majors and 108 specialist majors in adult higher education in Guangxi University. And there are 14 undergraduate majors and 19 junior college majors. At present, the school has more than 33 100 continuing education students, including more than 28,900 adult higher education students and more than 4,280 self-taught students. Up to now, the school has trained more than 80 100 graduates of various adult higher education courses for Guangxi, and more than 42,300 graduates of self-taught classes. In recent years, advanced seminars and professional skills training courses for all kinds of professional and technical personnel in the whole country and the whole region have been held many times, and the average number of professionals trained each year is more than 1.4 million, which has won high praise from the society.

According to the characteristics and laws of Guangxi's continuing education, the College of Continuing Education of Guangxi University, combined with the characteristics of Guangxi's social needs and regional economic development, and relying on the superior school-running conditions formed by the national "2 1 1 project", has actively and persistently explored, practiced and innovated how to develop continuing education in local colleges and universities. The achievements made by the College of Continuing Education of Guangxi University in developing continuing education have been highly appraised and recognized by the state and autonomous regions. 1998 was rated as "Excellent School for Adult Higher Education Evaluation in the Region" by the Education Committee of the Autonomous Region; In 2004, it was awarded as "National Advanced Collective of Electronic Registration Management of Higher Education Diploma" by the Student Affairs Department of the Ministry of Education. In 2005, it was awarded "Advanced Collective of Adult Higher Education Enrollment" by the Ministry of Education and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Admissions Examination Committee. 1997,2001,and in 2005, it was awarded as "Advanced Collective of Self-taught Higher Education Examination in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region" by the Admissions Examination Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; 1996,2001,and in 2006, it was awarded as "National Advanced Collective of Self-taught Higher Education Examination" by the National Higher Education Self-taught Examination Committee.
