The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Baptist University, Lingnan University, Hong Kong University of Education, Hong Kong Shue Yan University, The Open University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Zhuhai College, etc. 10 colleges and universities adopt independent enrollment methods, and the enrollment plans are not divided into provinces. Candidates must take the college entrance examination, register according to the requirements of the Hong Kong school, participate in the written examination and interview organized by the school alone, and the school will admit new students according to the results of the college entrance examination and other requirements. Candidates who have been admitted by Hong Kong 10 independent enrollment colleges will no longer participate in the unified long-distance online admission of mainland universities.

Six universities, including the University of Macau, Macau University of Science and Technology, Macau Polytechnic, Tourism College, Macao Jinghu Nursing College and Macau City University, also adopt independent enrollment methods. The enrollment plan is unified regardless of provinces and the whole country. Candidates who graduated from high school or graduated from high school can apply for the above institutions, and candidates must take the college entrance examination.
