Xichang College, formerly known as National Xikang Institute of Technology, was moved from Beiyang Institute of Technology to Xichang in 1939. It has a history of more than 70 years. On May 8, 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Xichang Agricultural College, Xichang Normal College, Liangshan University and Liangshan Education College merged to form a provincial full-time general undergraduate college. The school has 12 secondary college, as well as ideological and political theory teaching department and continuing education college; 53 undergraduate majors and professional directions, covering 7 disciplines of science, engineering, agriculture, management, literature, law and teaching, and 22 two disciplines; 1 National characteristic majors and six provincial characteristic majors, and disciplines such as agronomy, Yi language and literature, educational psychology, etc. have obtained the right of associate professor evaluation; 16 provincial-level quality courses and 60 school-level quality courses.
