Based on the philosophical foundation of "Freedom, Generation and Transcendence", Jaspers' masterpiece What is Education elaborated his unique understanding of education in detail, pointing out that education is the education of human soul, education is the generation, and the mission of education is to become the cultural education he advocated. Relying on the necessary education and communication atmosphere, Socratic education mode is adopted, equality and respect between teachers and students are emphasized, limited education plans are made, education content is improved, and education can cultivate and generate a new generation. He further pointed out that the real condition of education reform is not money, but the return to human education itself. The interpretation of this book mainly starts from Jaspers' understanding of education, summarizes his educational view from five major aspects, and reflects on the reality in combination with his educational thoughts, and finally summarizes the contents of this book. Throughout the ages, people all over the world have been studying this issue and exploring the significance of education, among which karl jaspers (1883 ~ 1969) is the representative. His book "What is Education" starts from the existential philosophy of "survival, encyclopedia, freedom, communication, history and transcendence", pointing out that education is the education of human soul, and the essence of educational activities is cultural inheritance and free exchange of spirit. The purpose of education is to realize self-generation. In order to achieve this goal, Jaspers advocated cultural education, put forward his own curriculum idea of emphasizing tradition but combining with modernity, and expressed his main views on teachers, which showed a very broad vision for us to know and understand educational problems and guided us to trace back to the true meaning of education.
