A four-year-old child knows nearly 1000 Chinese characters in a few months. "Advanced education" is really harmful.
Text/standard one.

After Miki is born, I will accompany her to study every day. When I was a child, I chose a picture book with many pictures and few words. In order to strengthen memory, some picture books will be read repeatedly. Gradually, I don't know when it started, she memorized the words on every page and opened the book to read them accurately, so that I thought she knew the words on it, so I thought of teaching her to read in advance. Every time I talk about this with friends around me, everyone opposes it and thinks it is not desirable. It is higher education. I also cited the example of German legislation prohibiting preschool education, and the harm brought by many advanced education, which scared me to give up this idea.

When Miki was over three years old, there were many picture books at home. She chose which book to read every day and gradually became interested in Chinese characters. She always asks me what to read this word and how to read that word, and asks me to teach her how to read it. Asked why she wanted to read books, she said that she wanted to read picture books by herself and read whatever books she wanted, so that she would not be restricted by me. So I began to try to teach her pinyin. After learning Pinyin, I can know new words by myself and read independently.

When I found my niece's Chinese textbook in the first grade, I was surprised to find that Chinese characters were in front of the textbook and pinyin was behind it. Think about it. We used to learn pinyin before we could read. I am a serious person. I remembered my friend's warning before, so I consulted a lot of popular science and materials. Let's talk about literacy first

When is a good time to learn to read?

0~4 years old is the period when children concentrate on developing their perception, mood and emotion, so it is not appropriate to teach children to study early. If we attach too much importance to and develop children's early cognitive and logical abilities, it will limit their emotional and emotional development. Of course, if children actively show interest in words, they can also teach them, and there is no need to deliberately limit them.

Some experts say that it is not necessary to learn literacy before entering school, but I personally think that it is necessary to cultivate reading ability before entering school. First of all, primary schools are fast-paced now, and the foundation is 0 before school. After entering primary school, teachers speak fast and it is more difficult for children to keep up with the rhythm. Secondly, one or two years after primary school, you need to study all subjects, and the free reading time will be compressed. If you can read early, you can start reading independently before school age to improve your interest in learning. Therefore, I think it is necessary for parents to spend some time and energy to guide their children to read when they are 4-5 years old.

Why do primary school students have to read pinyin first?

From September, 2065438 to September, 2007, all primary schools in China used the new Chinese textbooks for primary schools. Professor Wen Rumin, editor-in-chief of Chinese textbooks and director of Peking University Institute of Chinese Education, explained this problem at the training meeting on the use of textbooks: I used to learn Pinyin only in the first grade, and then I read it in Pinyin. This time, I changed to recognize some Chinese characters before learning Pinyin, and learn Pinyin while learning Chinese characters.

Why is this arrangement? What matters is the children's original feelings about Chinese characters. The "first impression" is not the letters A, O and E, but the Chinese character "Heaven, Earth and People". This order is of little significance: put Chinese back first, and Pinyin is only an auxiliary tool for learning Chinese characters. Traditional education in China also begins with literacy, and it is carried out without phonetic notation, that is, children are allowed to read repeatedly and learn to read slowly.

Since literacy is the first lesson in the first grade of primary school, it is feasible to read in advance.

3-6 years old is the golden age of children's brain development. At this age, they are full of curiosity and vitality. It can fully arouse their enthusiasm and interest in learning knowledge and improve their independent reading ability.

So, I began to implement a literacy program for my daughter Miki, entertaining middle school:

1, reading comes first, literacy comes last.

Reading picture books is a very interesting channel for children to read. Choosing picture books with more pictures and fewer articles at an early age is attractive and can play a good role in children's observation, imagination, aesthetic ability, logical thinking ability and concentration.

Every time I read a book, I will let her look at the picture first, let her express what she sees from the picture, then ask her if she wants to know what the words in the picture are written, arouse her curiosity and tell her the contents of the words, and finally let her repeat them, which not only deepens her memory but also exercises her expressive ability. After reading a book many times, children will naturally remember the words in the book.

2, literacy in the trace.

Label household items, take her out and walk on the road. When she comes across advertising signs, street names, business names, community names and building numbers, she will be guided to read the words she knows, and then she will be taught the words she doesn't know. When shopping in fruit shops and supermarkets, let her choose what she wants to buy. Sometimes she will deliberately put a few labels corresponding to the items and let her put them back accordingly. This kind of accomplishment is carried out unconsciously, and it can also enhance children's curiosity to explore the world.

For children who are just beginning to read, don't let them know complicated new words at first.

3. Children's songs or poems

Many children will be exposed to electronic products. They can use these electronic products to read some poems, nursery rhymes and so on. , and deepen the impression of Chinese characters with beautiful melody combined with subtitles.

4. Relevant literacy applications and courses (non-advertising, personal experience only)

There are many literacy apps on the Internet, such as Wukong Literacy, Hong En Literacy, Zebra AI Chinese Class, etc. After comparative trial, I chose Wukong Literacy, because Miki read the picture books of four classical novels before she became literate, and she likes Journey to the West very much. Wukong Literacy combines the story scenes of Journey to the West, which allows her to read happily in the game, with six new words every day, from simple to complex.

5. Literacy books

There are many choices for literacy books. Chinese characters with stories used to belong to her sister. After seeing it, Miki was attracted by the words inside and took the initiative to learn. This set of books tells the story behind Chinese characters. In previous lives, who knew that Chinese characters were really a combination of sound, form and meaning. Each article speaks a Chinese character, which is vivid and easy to learn.

6, easy to learn in the game

You can use homemade cards at the beginning of literacy and after you start to understand Chinese characters. The real solid period is achieved through continuous review. In the game, you can play middle school easily.

Case 1 Find out the corresponding Chinese characters.

Write some toys and daily necessities on homemade cards. Parents took out a card and asked her to find the corresponding card with Chinese characters on it.

Case 2 Classified Game

Use several small baskets and ask the children to put similar Chinese characters cards in the corresponding baskets. Props can be all kinds of fruits, toys, stationery, etc. This method can not only learn and review Chinese characters, but also train children's inductive ability.

Case 3 Bridge Game

Put the homemade cards on the ground and make a bridge. The children will jump to which word their parents read. This method not only knows the characters in the game, but also exercises the body.

I learned to play all the above methods with Miki. I have learned nearly 1000 words in five months, and now I can read simple picture books by myself.

Whether to teach children to read before school depends on whether they are interested. Taking advantage of the trend can satisfy their thirst for knowledge. If children don't like it, forcing hard church will form a bad learning experience for children. In this way, not only can the child learn to read, but it will also destroy his interest in reading, and the extremes meet.

The purpose of literacy is to teach children a cognitive tool so that they can explore and understand the wider world. Literacy is a cumulative process that permeates children's study and life. It should conform to the law of development, and don't mistakenly take literacy as the standard to measure children's intelligence.

When it comes to pre-school literacy, most people will object and think it is "advanced education". What's your opinion?
