Le Tong Experimental School of Shenzhen Nanshan Education Science Research Institute was established in autumn of 2004. Located in the northeast of Nantou Peninsula, Nanshan District, Shenzhen. It is a nine-year public school with 47 classes. In April, 2020, it was renamed Le Tong Experimental School of Shenzhen Nanshan Institute of Educational Sciences, which was the first experimental school in Nanshan District.

The motto of the school is "seeking truth from facts and being a real person happily". After ten years' practice and exploration, Fang Xing, the current principal, has built a unique "double helix" school-running concept system of Le Tong School. Including the double helix of values and methodology, school philosophy and teacher culture, classroom teaching and activity teaching, innovation drive and conceptual tools.

The school has established two educational brands, "Class Orienteering Movement" and "Great Stage for Teachers and Students to Enjoy Together", with more than 20 project features such as science and technology, sports, art and traditional culture.

In the process of building brands and characteristics, the innovative spirit and practical ability of teachers and students in Le Tong have been greatly improved. They are the first batch of national maker education alliance schools, the first batch of national psychological education characteristic schools, Shenzhen socialist core values demonstration units, and Shenzhen education reform and innovation leading schools. It has become a window for Shenzhen Education to implement maker education and build a smart campus.
