What is the Family Education Promotion Law?
The Family Education Promotion Law was enacted by the National People's Congress, the national legislature of People's Republic of China (PRC), and came into effect on 202 1 1. The law aims at strengthening the management and promotion of family education, promoting the healthy development of family education, safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of minors and maintaining social harmony and stability.

The Law on the Promotion of Family Education is divided into 64 articles in chapter 12, mainly covering the following aspects:

First of all, the law emphasizes the importance of family education. The law points out that family education is the earliest and most lasting form of education for minors, and it is an important way to comprehensively inherit and cultivate minors' ideological and moral, cultural literacy, physical and mental health and social responsibility.

Secondly, the law stipulates the basic principles of family education. Family education should take parents as the main body, respect minors' personality and wishes, attach importance to minors' physical and mental health, pay attention to minors' all-round development, adhere to moral education as the main body, and take subjective education as a supplement to promote minors' healthy growth.

Third, the law stipulates the contents and methods of family education. Family education should include patriotism, collectivism, socialism, rule of law, professional ethics, family virtues, healthy lifestyle and so on. Methods Teaching should be carried out according to the age, gender and physical and mental development of minors, and various forms such as heuristic, situational and experiential should be adopted.

Finally, the law also stipulates the supervision and guarantee measures for family education. Family education should be supported and helped by the government and society. Family educators should fulfill their legal obligations of raising, educating and protecting minors according to law, and should promptly correct and punish illegal acts in family education.
