Beijing University of Chinese Medicine was founded in 1956, formerly known as Beijing College of Chinese Medicine, and is the earliest institution of higher learning of Chinese medicine approved by the State Council. 1960 was identified as a national key university by the central government; 1993, renamed Beijing University of Chinese Medicine; /kloc-0 was selected as the "2 1 1 project" national key construction university in 1996; In 2000, it merged with Beijing College of Acupuncture and Orthopaedics to form a new Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. 20 1 1 was selected as the national "985 engineering advantage discipline innovation platform" to build universities; 20 17 Chinese medicine, integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine and Chinese pharmacy were selected into the national "double-first-class" construction discipline list; 20 18 became the chairman of the new teaching steering Committee of traditional Chinese medicine and integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education.
