Shaanxi Normal University, referred to as Shaanxi Normal University and Shaanxi Normal University for short, is located in xi City, Shaanxi Province. It is a key comprehensive normal university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), and the first batch of "double first-class" and "2 1 1 project" key construction universities in China.

Shaanxi Normal University, founded in 1944 and 1945, is the education department of Shaanxi Normal University and Northwest University College of Literature. 1954 changed its name to Xi' an Normal University, 1960 merged with Shaanxi Normal University to form Shaanxi Normal University.
