Shanghai Theatre Academy is an art college in China that trains performing arts professionals. Its predecessor was Shanghai Experimental Drama School. It was founded by famous educator and dramatist Li Jianwu, Huang, Huang, etc. On 1945 12 1, Mr. Xiong Foxi was the first dean. 1949 10, Shanghai Experimental Theatre School was renamed Shanghai Theatre Academy. During the period of 1952, the national colleges and universities were reorganized, and the drama department of Shandong University Art Department merged with the Shanghai Xingzhi Art School Drama Troupe and was formally established, renamed the East China Branch of the Central Academy of Drama. 1956 was officially named Shanghai Theatre Academy, which is an art college directly under the Ministry of Culture. In April 2000, it was handed over to Shanghai and the Ministry of Culture. In June 2002, the former Shanghai Normal University School of Performing Arts, Shanghai Opera School and Shanghai Dance School were merged into Shanghai Theatre Academy.

Drama is the main subject of Shanghai Theatre Academy, and it has been listed as a key subject in Shanghai since 1999. The education level of doctoral and master students takes drama and drama as two disciplines, and there are more than ten research directions. In addition, there are arts and radio and television arts in postgraduate education.
