This textbook is written for college physics teaching in full-time universities. The book consists of 2 1 chapter, divided into two volumes, covering five parts of general physics: mechanics, heat, electromagnetism, optics and modern physics. The first volume mainly deals with the physical basis of mechanics, mechanical vibration and mechanical waves, the theory of gas molecular motion, thermodynamics, electrostatic field and conductors and media in electrostatic field. The second volume mainly covers steady current, steady magnetic field, electromagnetic induction, magnetic medium, electromagnetic wave, interference of light, diffraction and polarization of light, special relativity, quantum essence of light and quantum physics foundation.
This book can be used as a teaching material for non-physics majors of science and engineering in colleges and universities, and also as a teaching material or teaching reference book for correspondence colleges and higher vocational and technical colleges.
