The school was founded in 1956, located in Baoting County, under the scenic Qixian Mountain. Originally a junior high school affiliated to Baoting Primary School, the academic system was three years.

In September, 1957, it was renamed Baoting County Junior High School.

Baoting, Lingshui and Yaxian were merged into Yulin County on 1958 and renamed as the second junior middle school in Yulin County.

1960 after the county was divided, it was renamed Baocheng Middle School.

From July, 1962, with its current name, moved to its current campus-Education Road, Baoting County, Hainan Province.
