A famous think tank in Washington and a think tank on Asian issues.

Think tanks, think tanks and public policy research institutions are sometimes called "think tanks", and their functions are to develop research topics, write articles and publish books, and assist in argumentation related to public policy issues. Experts from these research institutions are often invited to attend congressional hearings and White House consultation meetings. Their published works and articles are often cited as arguments to support a certain position and viewpoint.

Although some public policy research institutions are obviously liberal or conservative, many institutions are regarded as authorities on public policy issues. Some famous Asian think tanks in Washington that have long played a role in public policy debates include:

Congressional Research Service of the Library of Congress, Brookings Institution, Heritage Foundation, American Institute of Peace, Cato Institute, American Enterprise Institute, Competitive Enterprise Institute, American Institute of Asian Culture, New American Security Center, National Bureau of Asian Studies, Center for Strategic and International Studies, Washington Global Partners Limited, etc.
