A top-down track is composed of universities (including other institutions of higher learning) and middle schools (including preparatory classes for middle schools).

The other track is bottom-up, and its structure is primary school (then primary school and junior high school) and vocational school (first primary vocational education connected with primary school, then secondary vocational education connected with junior high school).

It is characterized by a series and various segments, namely, 633, 534, 444 and so on. It is conducive to the gradual popularization of education and has greater adaptability to the development of modern production and modern science and technology.

Also known as the Soviet-style academic system, it has both the characteristics of the single-track system and the factors of the dual-track system. The branch structure is that the first stage (primary school and junior high school) is a single-track system, and it begins to diverge when it enters the middle school stage, and it is a branch school system between the single-track system and the dual-track system. It is characterized by top-down fluency.
