At the handover ceremony, witnessed by more than 140 officers and men stationed in Victoria and Linyi guests, the national flag of the naval vessel Rongcheng was lowered slowly, and the handover ceremony of Rongcheng was completed. After the ceremony, the guests from Linyi learned about the facilities on Rongcheng through close contact.
As the earliest submarine of the People's Navy, Rongcheng has successfully completed more than 30 major military tasks such as Olympic security and "1 1.24" shipwreck rescue since its service, and has been commended for more than 40 times.
Over the years, as an iron-riding warship stationed in Weihai's hometown of the Anti-Japanese War, Rongcheng officers and men have always regarded the people as their parents and their places of residence as their hometown, actively supported local economic construction, and repeatedly undertaken diversified military tasks such as fighting mountain fires, fighting snowstorms and planting trees to protect people's lives and property. A number of outstanding officers and men, such as Liu Guo, the "New Long March Commando" who bravely rescued children who fell from buildings, emerged.
It is understood that the retired "Rongcheng" boat will be dismantled in the shipyard, transported to Linyi for reassembly in batches, and handed over to the local government of Linyi City, which will become a link between the military forces stationed in Weihai and the people in the old revolutionary areas and contribute to the sea power culture and education in the old revolutionary areas.
