City of Sorrow: Growing up in scorched earth, all tourists see is sadness.
Japan is a country that puzzles many tourists from China. On the one hand, from the historical and cultural point of view, both ancient Japan and today's Japan originated in China, but the Japanese also committed heinous crimes against China in the last century. On the other hand, in recent years, with the upsurge of China people studying and traveling abroad, more and more China tourists regard Japan as another ideal destination country after Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. Moreover, due to the short distance and convenient transportation, the number of Japanese tourists visiting China has been increasing in recent four or five years.

Many Japanese tourists visiting China will definitely visit the most representative cities of several island countries, such as Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima and Hokkaido. Those China tourists who follow the tour group are fine, so don't worry about the itinerary. However, ordinary tourists who travel to Japan for the first time may sometimes be a little vague about "where to go first, where to go next, and where to go last".

The online travel strategies of popular Japanese cities such as Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima are more specific, and only Hiroshima is short of travel information. Many people don't know what to see when traveling to Hiroshima. Needless to say, when you go to a city built on scorched earth, you will definitely feel the memory of the Big Bang 75 years ago (Hiroshima, Japan was bombed by the American atomic bomb on August 6, 1945), as well as the scenic spots preserved to this day and the nuclear explosion-related scenic spots built in succession in the following decades.

First of all, it is not recommended that you leave Kyoto on the same day and only go to Hiroshima for one day. The time is too tight to play well. Of course, this is not completely impossible. After all, it takes less than 2 hours from Kyoto or Osaka to Hiroshima via Shinkansen. In fact, all foreign tourists who go to Hiroshima for the first time basically stay there for a whole day. If they can stay in Hiroshima for 2-3 days, it will be ideal, and they can gradually appreciate the essence of Hiroshima tourism.

When traveling in Hiroshima, there are several representative scenic spots that must be visited. The mini garden counts as one. This is also one of the most exquisite landscape gardens I have ever seen in Japan. The miniature garden was first built at 1620, and it is also modeled after the West Lake in Hangzhou, China, with a large scale. However, after 1945 Hiroshima was bombed by the atomic bomb, the miniature garden was almost in ruins, and it was only after several years of war that it was rebuilt. Walking in the miniature garden, you can see valleys, mountains, forests and lakes, which are all scaled down. Although the miniature garden is not as grand as Shinjuku Imperial Garden in Tokyo, its implicit charm is extraordinary.

Hiroshima is a castle rebuilt in 1950s. At first, it was just a temporary building, trying to prove the progress made by Japan in rebuilding its cities after being bombed by atomic bombs. Around Hiroshima, there is a museum, which shows the history of Hiroshima, the process of post-war reconstruction and the story of the castle before reconstruction.

Hiroshima peace memorial museum. The whole museum shows the whole process of Hiroshima atomic bombing in a humanized way, and tells the true story of the local people after the big bang. Also on display are some personal belongings found after the explosion. Half of the exhibition content in the museum will allow visitors to face the catastrophic events directly and show and summarize the war abstractly from the perspective of human nature. The other half of the exhibition is the timeline of the explosion, which is presented in a straightforward, impartial and awe-inspiring way.

It takes about 2 hours to visit the museum, but for tourists from all over the world, it is really a good place to feel sad, pray for world peace and receive education. I thought that there might not be too many Japanese tourists here after the tragic situation of that year, but to my surprise, there are many Japanese domestic tourists in the museum. I hope they can really feel sad, learn from their mistakes and learn from history!

Leave the museum and go straight north, which is the most famous Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima. It is very comfortable to walk in this vast park, and you can also see the memorial to the victims of the atomic bomb along the way. It is said that the names of more than 200,000 explosion victims are registered here.

The unique shape of the dome of the atomic bomb is one of the few buildings that still stand after the bomb explosion, and it is still a UNESCO world heritage today.

Tip: What does Hiroshima eat? Visitors to Hiroshima must try okonomiyaki, a special food that can be called "smashing everything". Assorted cuisine in Hiroshima has a long history in the local area, and people who haven't eaten assorted cuisine call it "Japanese pancakes". In fact, the assorted barbecue is more like an omelet mixed with noodles and various other vegetables, seafood and meat. The price is also very cheap, the taste is good, and the store can customize it according to your taste.

In Hiroshima, there are two places where you can eat special mixed meat: one is Shaocun, Hiroshima, which is a special street that specializes in mixed meat, with about 25 different mixed restaurants; Another place is Hashi Assorted Restaurant. I recommend the latter, which is the most authentic one in Hiroshima.
