Abstract: "Governing by doing nothing" is a famous attitude and method of dealing with the world and governing the country put forward by Laozi, a famous ancient thinker and founder of Taoist school. Through the practice and thinking of applying the concept of "governing by doing nothing" in class management, this paper reveals that in the work of class teachers, students' self-awareness can be awakened through subtle educational means, and students can be urged to abide by school rules without being forced at all, that is, students' "promising" can be promoted through teachers' "inaction", thus forming the best state of class management.
Keywords: governing by doing nothing; Manage classes; idea
As the saying goes, "If you are not afraid of a thousand tricks, you are afraid of a fresh trick." "A fresh trick will eat all over the world." This is actually talking about the relationship between generalists and professionals. The same is true in life. For example, two mechanics, one of whom has dabbled in all skills, or can only play a few sets of ordinary flowery boxing and embroidered legs, while the other specializes in one kind of drunken boxing. If the two of them come to pk, the one who may know a lot of boxing methods is not as good as the one who practices "drunken boxing". Similarly, as a class teacher in class management, we should also have our own unique skills and "fresh tricks". Because in every class, students with different personalities and abilities are in the same room, it is inevitable that there will be problems of one kind or another. In the face of these contradictions and conflicts, whether the management strategy of the class teacher is appropriate will be highlighted in the processing results. In class management, it is often found that some class teachers work hard and try their best, but they are often thankless. Once the class is out of the sight of the head teacher, the world will be in chaos, which is quite similar to me a few years ago. It is also found that some class teachers are very calm and idle, but classes are always in good order, and so are class teachers. This "inaction" class management is an ideal state that every educator yearns for. As a history teacher and head teacher of a liberal arts class, I quite agree with this concept. Here, I want to share it with my colleagues, and everyone will verify my "inaction" trick, which won't work!
First, what is the "inaction" in class management?
"Governing by doing nothing" is a famous attitude and method put forward by Laozi, a famous ancient thinker and founder of Taoist school. Chapter 37 of Laozi wrote: "Tao will do nothing, and nothing will happen." Many people think that "inaction" means doing nothing and letting fate take its course. This is a negative outlook on life, but it is not. Needham, a world-famous expert in the history of science, believes that the real meaning of "inaction" should be "avoiding unnatural behavior". In other words, don't act rashly, act rashly, conform to the objective situation and respect the laws of nature. "inaction" is an attitude and method of standing in the world and governing the country. "inaction" refers to the effect of "not acting rashly" When we follow the laws of all things and follow the trend of the times to promote their development, all things can be "returned to their roots", "everlasting" and "without danger", thus reaching the realm of "doing everything they can". The famous flourishing age in China's history-"the rule of cultural scenery" is the successful practice of Huang Lao's thought of "doing nothing" in governing the country and keeping the country safe.
According to the concept of "governing by doing nothing", it should be the same to transform nature to adapt to society, govern the country and manage the class. I think the head teacher grasps the objective laws of students' physical and mental development in class management, follows the principles of educational management, conforms to the trend of the times and adopts scientific and correct management methods to manage students. This is the result of "self-improvement by the people" and "self-correction by the people" after the management mode of "governing by doing nothing" has been realized. Nowadays, quality education advocates "students' independent education" and "teaching is to realize that there is no need to teach", which is consistent with the idea of "governing by doing nothing". The class management state of "governing by doing nothing" means that the head teacher awakens students' autonomous consciousness through subtle educational means, urges students to act completely according to their own wishes, and makes students abide by school rules without feeling forced at all. Finally, the goal of "no need to teach" is achieved, that is, the "inaction" of teachers promotes the "promising" of students. This is also the best state of class management.
Second, the "inaction" class management practice
Case 1: No hesitation
Chapter 57 of Laozi says: "I have no desire, but the people are simple." Chapter 37 of Laozi says, "If I have no desire, the world will be right." These two words are used in class management, which means that the head teacher should not be confused by appearances in class management, and get angry when he sees any trouble in students or classes. He should understand the ins and outs of things and guide students to make choices in the right direction. I have personal experience in this respect. I remember when senior one took over this class, one afternoon after the first class, I found that the class floor was very dirty, and under the students' seats, any pieces of paper, packaging bags and stains were quite messy ... No, every day I asked the life Committee to take the students on duty to clean the indoor and outdoor sanitation. With this question, I continued to walk inside. I didn't see the life Committee member or the students on duty. I didn't lose my temper at that time and continued to walk around the classroom. At this moment, I saw Xiaowen pick up the paper ball under his desk! Similarly, I walked out of the classroom without saying a word, just nodding to Xiaowen to express my appreciation.
After two classes, it's my turn to have a history class. After the bell rang and the teachers and students greeted me, I didn't give a lecture as usual. On the contrary, I told my classmates that we should do a good job of cleaning after history class in advance today, and asked the whole class to clean the classroom together ... 15 minutes later, after everything was cleaned up, I asked the students, "Which classroom was just now or now?" The students all replied, "Now. ""If your home is dirty and messy, how do you feel when guests visit? " "I will feel embarrassed and don't want the guests to see the room in a mess!" "Yes, the class is our common home. Who wants others to say that our home is not clean? " The children bowed their heads and said nothing. At this moment, I focused on Xiaowen. I specifically told my classmates that only Xiaowen picked up the waste paper at her feet. I hope other students can do the same!
After class, the Life Committee and the students on duty told me that after cleaning the outdoor classroom, I found that classes had already started, and today is the cleaning day, so I didn't clean the classroom! In this regard, they said that this will not happen in the future! Looking at their sincere faces, I expressed my understanding of their thoughts and hoped that they would conscientiously complete their duties in the future. Since then, I have found that students pay attention to whether their desks and chairs are arranged neatly; Some people will consciously pick up the scraps of paper on the ground in class; Some people turn off the multimedia and electric lights in the class during running exercise ... I found that the effect of my "inaction" was reflected. My forbearance and collective efforts at that time made the students realize what the duty of students on duty was, and everyone had a sense of identity with their classes. Think of yourself as a member of the class and really work hard for its cleanliness and neatness!
Case 2: Weakness is better than strength
"Thirty-six Chapters of Laozi" said, "If you want to suppress it, you must consolidate it; If you want to be weak, you must be strong; If it is to be abolished, it must be consolidated; If you want to take it, you must be solid with it: it means subtlety-weakness is better than strength. " The application of these words in class management is that the head teacher should skillfully control the students' psychology and mobilize their enthusiasm to jointly manage the class collective, instead of trying to tame all the students in the class and make them obey. In daily management, I have always believed in such a sentence, "It is better to reward a person if he is over ten". I will try my best to affirm students' success and progress and let them have a pleasant psychological experience! However, for some principled issues of right and wrong, they do not shrink back, and insist on grasping the opportunity and conducting education. In this case, I adopted this way to educate Yanzi.
Swallow is a girl who joined our class when she was assigned to a new class in the second day of junior high school. Her outstanding characteristics are tall, loud, enthusiastic and willing to contribute to the class. Sometimes she is too impatient to handle things and often does bad things with good intentions! This morning, after the morning reading, she "pinched" with the students on duty on the issues of handing in homework and cleaning! I came about ten minutes later than usual because of something at home these days. It is almost seven o'clock. I watched the class from the back door. Several students are talking around the mat for handing in homework, and two or three students are gesticulating with brooms and tweezers. Just then, a voice came: "clean the area quickly, or you should read in the morning!" " Another voice said, "I still have two words to copy!" " "At this time, the biggest voice," don't hand in your homework, nothing else! "That's the swallow's signature loud voice! At this moment, another voice said, "Keep your voice down, I haven't finished reciting Have a Happy Journey! "The swallow's loud voice rang again." It's louder. Didn't you see that time, when I asked them to clean the blackboard, it was louder than this! ""I took a few quick steps and entered the classroom. At this time, the swallow saw me and said loudly as if he saw the savior: "The teacher didn't hand in his homework. I failed to receive my homework several times and was criticized by the English teacher! " At this time, the class was peaceful. The student on duty said unhappily, "I only need two words." I won't have time to write when I get back from duty. She must let me make up here. It's okay now. It is almost seven o'clock. I haven't cleaned it yet! " I winked at the students on duty, and they went downstairs with tools. For Swallow, I call her outside the classroom. I looked at her red face and said to her calmly, "Son, what can't I say well?" Talking to classmates so loudly also affects other students to read early? ! "When she heard my words, she argued loudly," Teacher, you said I was talking loudly, but didn't I ask them to hand in their homework? And the last time I asked them to clean the blackboard by name, it was much louder than that. Didn't you praise me for caring for my class? " After listening to Swallow's words, I didn't refute her rhetoric, but said softly, "It's a good thing for students to hand in their homework, but we should pay attention to strategies. It's not that students on duty can't do it first and hand it in when they come back, but you have an argument with them here, which has affected a lot of follow-up work! And sometimes not paying attention to your tone will only make your classmates sound deaf and not listen to you! One yard is worth one yard. Last time in class, you urged the students on duty to clean the blackboard with a sense of responsibility, but today is morning reading time. Everyone needs a quiet environment to read classics and English. You chose the wrong time, don't you think? Go back to class first and put your exercise books in order. I think they should come back when you finish cleaning up! "
The swallow saw that I didn't criticize her, but she didn't affirm her behavior either. Some angrily returned to the class and sorted out their exercise books. Soon after, the students on duty also returned to the class. They handed the books one by one and swallowed them. I walked over to her and counted with her. "Why? The homework is not neat? " I asked. "Ah, teacher, you don't say, in addition to a classmate is sick, homework is here! If I had known, I would have let them go on duty first! " The swallow said happily. "Of course, you just need to understand that they also have their own responsibilities and trust them. Isn't this all homework? " I said with a smile, and the swallow scratched his head shyly and said, "I know, teacher." I will pay attention to my own discretion and stop yelling at my classmates! " "
Swallows have really changed a lot since then. She will look at the problem from the standpoint of her classmates, be steady and know how to convince others by reasoning. Of course, she still cares about the advantages of the class as always. She won the conviction of her classmates and was elected as an excellent class cadre!
Third, the reflection on the concept of "governing by doing nothing"
Through the above two cases, I have strengthened the concept of "governing by doing nothing". This kind of thinking is not to do nothing, but to emphasize that the behavior of managers should conform to nature and humanity, so that the managed people can get their place and do their best. As a teacher, we should abandon the condescending attitude, weaken the opposition between teachers and students, and don't try to suppress students with the power of the head teacher. Instead, from the perspective of being conducive to the development of students, we should put down the teacher's airs, treat students as our friends and talk to them on an equal footing. For example, since the last semester of Senior One, our grade group has been reading Disciple Rules in every class early, and I will also let students discuss some issues about Disciple Rules in my history class. Such as how to treat classmates? How to respect teachers? At a class meeting this semester, the first discussion we had was "Is it necessary to do homework?" It is also specially aimed at individual students who don't do homework. I discuss and even argue with the students, so that the students can fully experience the democratic atmosphere in the discussion and establish a correct outlook on learning and life.
Therefore, I firmly believe that Rousseau, a French enlightenment thinker and educator, said in Emile: What is the best education? The best education is doing nothing! Inaction is not inaction, but the purpose of "doing something" by means of "inaction". I am willing to be a skilled psychological class teacher who can grasp students, really arouse their enthusiasm to jointly manage class collectives, really enter students' hearts and reach a higher level of "management is for no matter"! I will aim at this and stick to it.
