After the founding of New China, the first education law officially promulgated in China was the People's Republic of China (PRC) Academic Degrees Ordinance (hereinafter referred to as the Ordinance). The Regulations on Academic Degrees in People's Republic of China (PRC) was promulgated on February 1980 12, and came into effect on June 198.

I. Revision:

Decree No.27 of the President of the People's Republic of China "Decision of the NPC Standing Committee on Amending the Regulations on Academic Degrees in People's Republic of China (PRC)" was adopted at the 11th meeting of the 10th NPC Standing Committee in People's Republic of China (PRC) on August 28th, 2004, and is hereby promulgated and shall come into force as of the date of promulgation.

Adopted at the 13th meeting of the Fifth NPC Standing Committee on February, 2004 1980, revised according to the Decision on Amending the Regulations on Academic Degrees in People's Republic of China (PRC) of the 11th meeting of the Tenth NPC Standing Committee on August 28th, 2004.

Two. People's Republic of China (PRC) Academic Degrees Ordinance:

In order to promote the growth of scientific talents in China, improve the academic level of various disciplines and the development of educational science, and meet the needs of socialist modernization, the Regulations on Academic Degrees in People's Republic of China (PRC) are formulated. All citizens who support the leadership of our country and the socialist system and have a certain academic level may apply for corresponding degrees in accordance with the provisions of these regulations, which shall come into force on August 28, 2004.
