Jingyu volcano mineral spring group geological museum was founded in 2004 and opened to the public in 2005. In 2008, the museum expanded and added a rock and mineral fossil area and a mineral water ecological environment monitoring room. In 2009, the outdoor exhibition area of the museum was added, and the popular science cultural corridor of the museum was built in the outdoor exhibition area of 20 14.

Jingyu Volcano Mineral Spring Group geological museum is a natural science museum, located in the east of Jingyu County, Baishan City, Jilin Province. It is under the management of Jingyu Water Source Protection Area in Changbai Mountain and Jingyu County Culture, Radio, Film and Television Press and Publication Bureau. There are seven people at present. There are 5,323 collections in 7 categories, including animal and plant specimens, rocks, ores, fossils, clay, core powder and water resources, and the annual number of visitors can reach more than 6,543,800. Since opening to the outside world, the museum has always regarded improving the service level to the public as its fundamental task. In line with the concept of inheriting culture, spreading civilization and serving the public, we will continuously enrich the number of collections and improve the infrastructure construction of museums. It has played an important role in cultivating the public's scientific spirit and innovative consciousness, and has been widely supported and recognized by the state, provinces and cities. It has successively won the honorary titles of "National Popular Science Education Base", "Land and Resources Popular Science Education Base", "National Third Class Museum", "Jilin Volcano Mineral Spring Popular Science Base" and "Jilin Province Youth Extracurricular Activities Demonstration Base".

The museum covers an area of 6,500 square meters, with a building area of 2,095 square meters, an exhibition hall area of 1.050 square meters and an outdoor exhibition area of 2,500 square meters. The overall structure of the museum adopts a three-story frame-type modern building, which is simple and elegant, with water blue all over, implying beautiful and sweet mineral springs. The indoor exhibition hall is surrounded by nine exhibition areas, namely: volcano mineral spring dynamic area, ecological area, earth evolution area, mineral water formation area, scenic area, mineral water knowledge area, humanities area, rock mineral fossil area, mineral water ecological environment monitoring room and a three-dimensional sand table model. Through high-tech demonstrations, colorful pictures, models, objects and multimedia, the local volcanic geological structure, mineral water formation mechanism and ecological environment are displayed. In the outdoor exhibition area, large-scale ore specimens unique to Changbai Mountain area are placed, walkways, fountains and rest pavilions are laid, and a variety of rare tree species in Changbai Mountain are planted. Incorporate the specimens into it and build a popular science leisure square integrating leisure, entertainment and popular science education.
