Hattori Kintaro, a trainee watchmaker, followed the trend of reform, seized the opportunity of Japanese absorbing a lot of western science and technology, introduced watchmaking technology, realized his ideal, created his own watch kingdom, and won himself the reputation of "the king of oriental timepieces".
1892 in may, Kintaro, a visionary philosopher of Hattori, bought a closed factory, founded Seiko Co., Ltd., and hired Ji Chuan He Yan, a watchmaker, as the chief technician. Starting from imitating and developing a simple wall clock, he successfully launched an American wall clock for sale in July of the same year.
At the beginning of Seiko Society, there were only 15 employees in the factory, and the machines used were all human-driven, which caused a lot of manpower to grind parts.
