Yan 'an Revolutionary Memorial Hall was founded in 1950. The original site of the memorial hall is at the foot of Fenghuang Mountain. 1968, a new museum was built in Wang Jiaping and officially opened to the public in 1973. The word "Yan 'an Revolutionary Memorial Hall" above the main entrance of the exhibition hall was inscribed by Guo Moruo.

The second floor is an exhibition of political activities, mass production, cultural life and medical care in Yan 'an. It also simulates a street in Yan 'an New Market, with shops in Yan 'an on both sides, each with a portrait of Chairman Mao.
Then there are many versions of Chairman's works, some related souvenirs of the Seventh National Congress, some relics of the 84 air crash, and finally an aerial photo of Yan 'an today.
