The full name of PET is Elementary English Test, which is the second level of Cambridge University English Band 5 Certificate Test. This series of certificate exams is a high-quality international English exam designed for English learners of all levels.
This test is to evaluate candidates' practical English skills. Whether for study or work, PET test can promote the development of candidates' language ability and lay a solid foundation for candidates who want to take the Cambridge First Certificate English Test (FCE).
PET tests test candidates' reading, writing, listening and conversation abilities, in which reading and writing account for 50% of the total score, listening and speaking account for 25% respectively. Among them, the examination time for reading and writing is 1 hour and 30 minutes, the reading is divided into five parts, the listening time is 35 minutes, including four parts, and the oral examination time is 10- 12 minutes, which is divided into four parts.
Grade standard of pet inspection:
PET papers will be judged by experienced examiners in ESOL Examination Department of Cambridge University. Test scores are divided into four grades: excellent, qualified, nearly qualified and unqualified. The test score is the sum of the three parts of the test paper.
Each candidate will receive a test score report six weeks after the end of the test, which not only provides the total score of the test, but also shows that the candidate's score in a certain part of the test paper is very high or low. Candidates who pass the exam will get the certificate issued by ESOL Examination Center of Cambridge University Examination Committee within 3 months after the exam.
