Zhuzhou Vocational Education University Town is an important measure launched by Zhuzhou Municipal People's Government in response to the major strategic decision of the Party and the state to vigorously develop vocational education, seizing the historical opportunity of the construction of the national comprehensive reform pilot zone of "two-oriented society" in Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan, and relying on the superior resources of vocational education and scientific research and development in Zhuzhou City, in order to enhance the ability of vocational education to serve regional industrial construction and promote the construction of "two-oriented society" and the process of new urbanization and industrialization.

The total planned area of the project is 13.9 square kilometers, and the total investment exceeds 1000 billion yuan. The whole project includes "one city, eleven schools, three libraries and five centers", including the municipal library, the municipal science and technology museum, the gymnasium of the vocational education university town, the Zhuzhou employment and entrepreneurship guidance center, the training center, the skill appraisal center, the R&D incubation center and the comprehensive supporting service center. Planning and layout of a municipal shared area and three inter-school shared areas, forming a spatial structure of "two five-axis multi-core", highlighting the four thematic functions of education, research and development, service and residence. The construction of vocational education university town was started at the end of 2009, and it is planned to be basically completed in 20 13, fully completed in 20 15, and mature and perfect in 2020. It is planned that the population will reach 200,000 to 250,000 in 2020, the number of people with academic qualifications will be 10 to120,000, and the average annual training will be10,000.
