Professor Chen Guozhen (1916121-2000), analytical chemist and chemical educator, was born in Xiamen, Fujian. 1938 graduated from the chemistry department of Xiamen University. He used to be a technician and technician of Fujian Provincial Construction Department, and a teaching assistant and lecturer of Xiamen University. 195 1 received a doctorate in philosophy from London university. He has served as director, professor and assistant to the president of Xiamen University, chief engineer and deputy director of the Production Bureau of the Second Ministry of Machinery Industry, deputy director of the State Oceanic Administration, director of the academic Committee, the first and second executive directors of the Chinese Oceanographic Society, and the twentieth director of the Chinese Chemical Society. He is a member of the Committee of the Fifth and Sixth China People's Political Consultative Conference. Engaged in teaching and research of analytical chemistry for a long time. We have successfully developed an analysis method, which can quickly obtain the data of production process from a long distance. He is the author of Spectrophotometry and Analytical Chemistry of Seawater.
