20 12 Xuchang university passed the qualification assessment of the teaching work of ordinary undergraduate colleges and universities by the Ministry of education, and passed the inspection and assessment of the teaching work of ordinary undergraduate colleges and universities by the Ministry of education in 2020.

The school is the first batch of pilot units for the transformation and development of local undergraduate colleges in Henan Province, a demonstration and application-oriented undergraduate college, and a master's authorized project construction unit, and was selected as the national "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" integration project of production and education.

There are 6 key disciplines in Henan Province, including Henan Key Laboratory, Henan Engineering Laboratory, Henan International Joint Laboratory, Henan Academician Workstation, Henan Engineering Research Center, Henan Social Science Key Research Base, Henan University Humanities and Social Sciences Key Research Base, etc. 14 provincial scientific research innovation platforms.

It has a research base of Henan intangible cultural heritage, and has jointly built 17 school-level collaborative innovation center and Industry-University-Research cooperation base with local key enterprises.
