The bridge deck is 64 meters away from the sea, and all kinds of large ships can pass under the bridge unimpeded. The Bosporus Strait is located in Turkey, which divides Istanbul, Turkey's largest city, into two parts. Istanbul is a tourist attraction and the dividing line between Europe and Asia. The total length of the Strait is 30.4 kilometers, the widest point is 2.4 kilometers, the narrowest point is only 708 meters, the deepest point is 80 meters and the shallowest point is 27.5 meters. It connects the Black Sea in the north, Malahi in Nantong and the Mediterranean Sea. It is the first pass for countries along the Black Sea to go to sea, with cliffs on both sides and dangerous situation, and has always been a battleground for military strategists. The bridge spans the Bosphorus and connects the whole city.
In the early 1980s, with the modernization of Turkish cities and the development of transportation, a bridge could no longer meet the needs of the people, and the government began to build the second Strait Bridge. The new bridge spans Shisha rosti in the European part of the Strait and Kavajuk in the Asian part, and is located about 5 kilometers north of the first bridge. Named fatih Bridge, it was put into use on 1988. In terms of length and load, it is superior to the old bridge. The water surface is1090m long and 39.4m wide, which is 6.4m longer than the first bridge. It can parallel eight cars. The bridge is still 64 meters high and can be used by any giant ship. The whole bridge has no piers, and consists of two pylons with a height of107m on both sides, which are pulled by two 77cm thick steel cables. Each cable weighs 9500 tons and is twisted by 16 128 steel wires with a thickness of 5.38 mm. From a distance, the bridge standing on the sea is like a giant dragon lying across it, which is very spectacular. The east bank of the Straits Bridge is Asia, and the west bank is Europe. The original old city of Istanbul was built on the headland in the south of Golden Horn Bay on the west bank, and now it still retains the renovated city walls. Temple pagodas stand on both sides of the winding ancient street in the city, and tall buildings stand on both sides of the spacious and straight Ataturk Avenue and Independence Avenue, which clearly shows that various cultures of the East and the West converge here. Whenever the sun sets and night falls, the Strait Bridge and its banks are brightly lit, and the water is covered with silver, reflecting the shadows of castles, mosques, houses and forests on the shore. They are colorful and full of magical colors. Two large suspension bridges across the Strait connect the highways on both sides of Asia and Europe. People drive from Asia, cross the bridge and follow the wide highway, which can go directly to European countries. The magnificent bridges are open and crisscross.
