Wuhan Tourism School is the earliest training base for tourism service talents in Wuhan. It is the only national key tourism secondary vocational school in the Education Bureau. It is the Wuhan International Education Exchange and Cooperation Center approved by Wuhan Education Bureau, the Tourism Vocational Skills Training Center officially listed by Hubei Provincial Tourism Bureau, and the Wuhan International Education Cooperation Center.
The Teaching and Research Center of Cooking Specialty in Wuhan Secondary Vocational School, the Teaching and Research Center of Tourism Service and Management Specialty in Wuhan and Jianghan District, the only test center of the national English proficiency test, are the statutory institutions for training on-the-job staff and managers in star-rated hotels, travel agencies and other places.
Wuhan Tourism School adheres to the school-running philosophy of "market-oriented, reform-driven, quality-oriented and development-oriented", highlights the school-running characteristics of "service-oriented and language-oriented", and gradually forms a campus culture of "everyone pays attention to etiquette and reflects services everywhere".
Over the years, the school has won many honorary titles such as municipal model school, municipal advanced collective of vocational education, municipal best spiritual civilization construction unit, municipal "harmonious campus" qualified school, municipal "two-oriented" school, district civilized unit, educational and teaching meritorious unit, and advanced unit of comprehensive social management. In 2007, it was identified as one of the 22 characteristic schools in Wuhan by the Municipal Education Bureau.
In April 2020, he was selected as the first batch of "double-qualified" teachers in secondary vocational schools.
Wuhan Tourism School strives to build a brand specialty with tourism characteristics. At present, there are provincial key majors such as tourism service and management, aviation crew and hotel management. Among them, the service major has been successfully declared as a national key major, and the featured majors include foreign-related tourism English, e-commerce, nutritional cooking, wine mixing and tea ceremony, etiquette major, and postal comprehensive services.
The school focuses on the implementation of the famous teacher project to comprehensively improve the level of teachers. Based on the spirit of vocational education reform, school-based training is the starting point, and various training forms, such as further study in colleges and universities, further study abroad, and on-the-job study in enterprises, are adopted to comprehensively promote the process of teacher specialization and double-qualified teacher training.
At present, our school has 1 provincial backbone teachers, 1 municipal outstanding young teachers, 1 district chief teachers, 6 district subject leaders, 8 district outstanding young teachers and 35 double-qualified teachers. In recent years, school teachers have won more than 100 times in various competitions at the national, provincial and municipal levels, written more than 100 academic papers at the national, provincial and municipal levels, and compiled 9 school-based textbooks.
