The Change of Time and Rain is taken from The Reason Gentlemen Teach Five, and The Reason Gentlemen Teach Five is taken from the Special Seal Sentence in Mencius.
Mencius said in the original text: "The reason why a gentleman teaches is five: those who are like rain, those who are virtuous, those who are rich, those who answer, and those who love privately. These five things are taught by gentlemen. "
Mencius said: "A gentleman educates people in five ways: just like timely rain; Have perfect moral quality; Have the ability to cultivate; The answer to the question; There are also private disciples who influence others to become academic. These five are the ways for gentlemen to educate people. "
Appreciating the five educational methods listed by Mencius here include moral education, intellectual education and other aspects, but strictly speaking, they are not a complete teaching system, and there is no strict logical relationship between the various methods, but only an enumeration nature.
Nevertheless, we can still see that these different education methods are based on students' own different situations and the experience of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude. If we do not make systematic requirements from the theoretical aspect, but start from the actual teaching situation and introduce teaching practice, it is still worth popularizing and applying even after more than 2000 years.
