[Edit this paragraph] Ming Dynasty magistrate

Huang Yu, whose real name is Mei Ting, was born in Xiangshan (present-day Guangdong) with an unknown date of birth and death. Xiaozong was promoted in Jingtai for seven years (1456) during the Chenghua period of Ming Dynasty. He came in second when he took the exam. Because I didn't want to be an official, I went to be a student. However, after several years of examination, I still failed to get into Jinshi, so I had to start as a junior official and was later promoted to Changle County Order of Huizhou Prefecture. His achievements as a county magistrate are very good and the people support him. However, he was outspoken, didn't get along well with his superiors, and failed to be promoted repeatedly. After fifteen years as a magistrate of a county, I abandoned my post and returned to Huicheng, Guangzhou.

Huang Yu, who once had ups and downs in officialdom, finally looked down on his fame. He either comments on poems and papers with friends all day, or buries himself in writing books. He deliberately recorded folklore and historical stories and compiled some historical classics. Huang Yu personally planted two Sophora japonica trees at home. When the Sophora japonica trees were flourishing, he built a simple pavilion at the back, named "Shuanghuai Pavilion". He stayed under the pavilion for a long time after returning home. It is said that Huang Yu often writes poems under the pavilion, and when he gets up, he will rap and scream, but no one will read it. Because he loved the two locust trees he planted, he not only called himself "the old man with double locust", but also named his writings after "double locust". Also known as "double locust old banknotes".

When Huang Yu was seventy years old, the manuscript was officially completed. He spent nearly forty years, during which he revised the manuscript several times and took a very serious attitude. The preface says: "Everything you see, hear and spread is big and pale, and everything you say is plagiarized." It can be seen that he devoted a lot of effort to this collection. Don't worry about big things, don't care about small things, and take everything you see and hear seriously. He also said: "if you get the opinions of the ruling and opposition parties, you must use Chen Shui-bian's theory to prove it;" Collect county riding anthology. Quality must be based on a wide range of people. If it's new and different, suspicious people will find it, and disgusted people will cut it. "From this, we can infer two characteristics of this episode. First, it emphasizes textual research, not pleasing people with novelty, and the writing is slightly rigorous; Secondly, this book is based on Huang Yu's personal views, from which we can analyze Huang Yu's views on the problem. It is said that the articles about pavilions in the book, such as Guo Zi Shi Kui and Jishi Shu, were not completed until their grandson Huang Zuo found relevant information in the official literature and supplemented it.

Huang Yu's writing is vivid, the plot twists and turns, and the dialogue is wonderful, which has begun to take shape as a novel. And all the books are written in vernacular, with a little classical Chinese style and good at description. It can be seen that by the time of Huang Yu, China's novels in the Ming Dynasty had begun to take shape.
