What is student-based education?
Student-oriented education: a practical study on the overall reform of large-scale education presided over by Professor Guo, doctoral supervisor of South China Normal University and director of Guangdong Institute of Educational Science.

Student-oriented education advocates that education should be transformed from "teacher-oriented education" to "student-oriented education", that is, the education designed for teachers to teach well should be transformed into the education designed for students to learn well, so as to realize students' active, positive and healthy development.

Since 1999, it has been the key discipline of philosophy and social sciences in Guangdong Province in the Ninth Five-Year Plan, and later became the key discipline of the Ministry of Education. At present, the key projects of the 11th Five-Year Plan of the Ministry of Education, namely, promoting quality education through student-oriented education and promoting education balance, and the key projects of philosophy and social sciences in Guangdong Province, namely, promoting balanced development of rural education through student-oriented education, are being carried out.

After 12 years of research, the student-oriented education community has flourished, from the initial 15 experimental schools to more than 200 now, and has achieved rich theoretical and practical results. Many weak schools have been transformed into socially recognized schools. In the practice of student-based education, teachers fully realize the true meaning of education, enjoy the fun of education and the magic of children's vitality, and get good professional development.
