CET-4 is a national English test sponsored by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education. It is designed, organized, managed and implemented by the National College English Test Committee for CET-4 and CET-6 (formerly known as "College English Test Design Group for CET-4 and CET-6" 1993). CET-4 is held twice a year, and the registration time is June and 65438+February every year (the time is slightly different every year). You can apply for CET-6 if your score reaches 425 or above, so it is generally considered that the qualified line of CET-4 is 425.

1, proposition writing

In CET-4, the first thing to do is English writing. Candidates need to write a short essay of 100- 120 words within a limited time, which may be different from previous exams and need candidates.

2. Listening

There are two sections in the listening section: Section A, Listening Dialogue, and Question 10. Part B is a listening passage with 20 questions. It should be noted that the listening part is followed by writing, and there is basically no time to look at the topic options in advance, which greatly tests the speed reading and listening ability of candidates. It is necessary to practice constantly in this part, otherwise the probability of low scores is relatively high.

3. Reading comprehension

In the reading comprehension section, the questions include fill-in-the-blank questions, collocation questions and multiple-choice questions to test the vocabulary of candidates.

4. Translation of short passages

The content of the exam is to translate a passage of Chinese, covering the history, culture, economy, social development and geographical environment of China, and the length is about 140~ 160 Chinese characters. Generally speaking, in this part, it is more or less difficult to translate several difficult four-character idioms. Generally speaking, it is difficult to get high marks in this part, but it is not very low.
