The East Hall of Shanghai Museum has four floors, which are exhibition areas, two of which are used for office, research, foreign exchange and reading, and the other two are equipped with closed warehouses. The underground part has two floors, one is the equipment room, the lecture hall, the multimedia hall and the audience dining room, and the other is the parking lot. In the open space, there are cultural and creative exhibitions, academic lecture halls, 150 multimedia cinemas, various cafes, libraries and classrooms.

After the completion of the East Pavilion of Shanghai World Expo, it will form a cluster effect with the surrounding cultural facilities such as Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, Oriental Art Center, Shanghai Library East Pavilion and Century Park, and become an important part of the administrative and cultural center of flowers and trees.
