1, National University of Defense Technology. It is one of the key construction projects in the First Five-Year Plan 156, one of the 20 key universities in China identified by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in 1959, and the first batch of universities in the State Council approved to award master's and doctoral degrees.
It is the first batch of pilot graduate schools in China, the first batch of them entered the national "2 1 1 project" construction plan, the only one entered the national "985 project" construction ranks, and the only one was included in the national "double-class" construction support.
The National University of Defense Technology has achieved a large number of independent innovations represented by Tianhe series supercomputer system, key technologies of Beidou satellite navigation and positioning system, Tiantuo series micro-nano satellites, laser gyroscopes, ultra-precision machining and maglev trains.
It has made important contributions to China's "two bombs and one satellite" and manned space flight. Tianhe-2 supercomputer system developed by our school won the title of world supercomputer for six consecutive times.
2. Central South University. Located in Changsha, Hunan Province, it is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). Ranked in the national "Class A", "985 Project" and "2 1 1 Project", and selected as the leading universities in the national "201/plan" and "165438+".
Central South University was formed in April 2000 by the merger of Hunan Medical University, Changsha Railway Institute and Central South University of Technology. The former Central South University of Technology was formerly known as Central South Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, founded in 1952, and the former Changsha Railway Institute was formerly known as Central South Institute of Architecture and Engineering, founded in 1953.
The main disciplines of the two universities can be traced back to the course of Mining and Road in Hunan Higher Institute of Technology founded by 1903. Hunan Medical University, formerly known as Xiangya Medical College, was founded in 19 14 and is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning in western medicine in China.
