Private schools are ancient private schools in China, as opposed to official schools. Private schools came into being in the Spring and Autumn Period. Although Confucius was not the founder of private school, it was the largest and had the deepest influence, which lasted for more than two thousand years and occupied an important position in the history of education in China.
In addition to social needs, the reasons for private schools also depend on two basic conditions, namely, whether there is something to teach and whether there are people engaged in teaching. As an important part of education, private schools have made great contributions to the development of Chinese civilization. First of all, it broke through the situation that "learning is in the official" and school education is monopolized by the government since the Western Zhou Dynasty, and expanded the educational target. Secondly, private school is a special educational place, which breaks the old official education system of integrating politics with religion and integrating officials with teachers, making education an independent activity. Private schools have made new progress in the contents and methods of education. Finally, the development of private schools has accumulated rich educational experience and promoted the development of pre-Qin educational theory.
