Lanzhou Jiaotong University School of Environment and Municipal Engineering has a long history. Its predecessor was the water supply and drainage specialty of the former Railway Construction Department of Tangshan Railway Institute. 1958, Tangyuan moved to Lanzhou to set up the water supply and drainage specialty of the Department of Railway Architecture, and all the teachers and equipment of the water supply and drainage teaching and research group of Tangshan Railway Institute were transferred to Lanzhou Railway Institute.
197 1 In September, Lanzhou Railway Institute set up a separate department of water supply and drainage engineering, which is the first and only training base for water supply and drainage professionals in railway colleges and universities in China, and also the earlier professional department in engineering colleges and universities in China, commonly known as "eight old water supply and drainage schools".
1In August, 1984, the water supply and drainage department of Lanzhou Railway Institute added the specialty of environmental engineering.1In February, 1984, the water supply and drainage department was officially renamed as the Department of Environmental Engineering. Later, specialties such as building environment and equipment engineering and environmental science were added. 200 1 changed its name to College of Environmental Science and Engineering, and in 2003 it was officially named College of Environment and Municipal Engineering of Lanzhou Jiaotong University.
Gu Peixun, Li, Li, Sun, Wang Naizhong, Teng Lanzhen, Yapp Hung Fai, Ou Yangming, Qiu Rongchu, Ye Lingbi, Chang Qing, famous experts, scholars and professors at home and abroad have taught the college successively, which has laid a far-reaching cultural foundation for the good teaching style and study style of the college.

Discussion on the origin of water supply and drainage specialty in Lanzhou Jiaotong University I have some personal experience on the development of water supply and drainage specialty, and now I will talk about it for reference. I 1955 was admitted to the Department of Railway Architecture of Tangshan Railway Institute. At that time, I took public courses and basic courses in my sophomore year, and only specialized in my junior year (that is, major). According to the introduction of senior students in the school, in order to learn and popularize the experience of running a school in the Soviet Union, the Department of Railway Architecture of Tangyuan started to establish the water supply and drainage specialty on 1955. From the students of Grade 53 in the Railway Department, a class is set aside to study specialized courses related to water supply and drainage, which is called Class 53 and is the first specialized course of water supply and drainage offered by Tangyuan. They graduated from 1957 and became Class 1 of Tangyuan. Later, there were 54 classes of water. Retired teachers of our college, such as Wang and Li Wenshou, 1958 Tang Yuanshui Class 54 came to work in Lanyuan directly after graduation. In the first half of 1958, my iron 55 class also began to be divided into three specialities: sword 55, line 55 and water 55. By the second half of 1958, the equipment and teachers of Tangyuan's entire water supply and drainage specialty (including water supply and drainage teaching and research group and water supply and drainage laboratory) were ordered by the Ministry of Railways to move to Lanzhou to support the newly established Lanzhou Railway Institute. Therefore, there is no water supply and drainage major in Tangyuan, and class 55 of water is closed, and its students are reassigned to construction class and line class. When we were sophomores, it was reported that the Ministry of Education would move Tangshan Railway Institute to Lanzhou, and began to choose a site in Lanzhou 1956, with a scale of 9,000 students. From 65438 to 0956, the Lanzhou delegation led by Ren Zhenying, then vice mayor of Lanzhou, went to Tangshan personally, and made a large-scale report meeting for all teachers and students of Tangyuan in the school playground with the theme of promoting Lanzhou and welcoming Tangyuan to move to Lanzhou, which aroused the strong interest of teachers and students. At that time, I was deeply impressed by his vivid introduction to Lanzhou in his report. For example, he said that Lanzhou now is "a tree on Gaolan Mountain", and Lanzhou in the future will be full of fruit trees. He also said that the streets in Lanzhou are all gray roads and cement roads, that is, the streets are gray in sunny days and the roads are water and mud in rainy days, but with the help of the big brother of the Soviet Union, the planning blueprint of Lanzhou will be realized as soon as possible. The news that Tang Academy moved to Lanzhou caused great repercussions in the school at that time, with support and opposition. Especially during the anti-rightist period of 1957, the issue of school relocation became the focus of debate and remained unresolved for a long time. 1958, the Ministry of Railways decided that Tangyuan would not relocate the school temporarily, but build the third national railway vocational college in Zhenle Village, Anning District, Lanzhou City, which is the planned campus address of the original Tangyuan. 1958 In April, the Ministry of Railways decided to build Lanzhou Railway Institute by the order of "Tieren Jiaozhuan Teng [58] No.224", and immediately set up a school building committee. The Ministry of Railways also decided that the teachers and equipment urgently needed by Lanzhou Railway Institute should be supported by Tangshan Railway Institute and Beijing Railway Institute. It is determined that the railway transportation department and the motor department are set up by Beijing Railway Institute. Tangshan Railway Institute has established departments of railway architecture, bridges and tunnels and machinery. At that time, there were 340 faculty and staff transferred from two universities to Lanyuan. On July 22nd, 1958, the Education Bureau of the Ministry of Railways ordered all the teachers and equipment of the water supply and drainage teaching and research group of Tangshan Railway Institute to be transferred to Lanzhou Railway Institute, and promised to start classes in Lanzhou on September 22nd. 1In August, 958, the water supply and drainage engineering specialty of the Railway Engineering Department of Lanzhou Railway Institute was founded with the water supply and drainage teaching and research group of Tangshan Railway Institute as the team and some teachers of the hydraulics teaching and research group. In September 1958, three-year junior college students majoring in water supply and drainage (59 students majoring in water) were enrolled in Lanzhou for the first time, and in June, 438+09 1. From 65438 to 0959, Lanyuan College began to recruit five-year undergraduate students majoring in water supply and drainage. Until 1965, 293 undergraduates of seven sessions were trained. 197 1 September, the college decided to set up a separate department of water supply and drainage engineering, which is the only training base for water supply and drainage professionals in railway colleges across the country. With the development of environmental protection specialty and the demand for environmental protection talents,1In August 1984, an environmental engineering specialty was added to Lanyuan Water Supply and Drainage Specialty, and in February of the same year, 65438 Lanyuan Water Supply and Drainage Specialty was officially renamed as Environmental Engineering Department. It can be clearly seen from the above actual situation that the water supply and drainage specialty of Lanyuan is definitely a continuation of the water supply and drainage specialty of Tangshan Railway Institute. If we trace back to the development of water supply and drainage specialty in Jiaotong University, we should at least start from Class 53 of Laotangyuan. However, the establishment of Water Class 53 is not isolated. It is based on the abundant teachers and sufficient instruments and equipment of civil engineering in the old Tang Institute. Therefore, tracing back to the source, the history of water supply and drainage specialty should be written from the civil engineering specialty of the old Tang Institute, which is the real source of water supply and drainage specialty. According to the information I have at hand, as early as August of 1925 (Republic of China 14), the former Tangshan University (the predecessor of Tangshan Railway Institute) clearly set up four courses (majors) in its civil engineering department (department) for the first time, all of which were four-year undergraduate courses. This should be the most primitive organizational system of water supply and drainage specialty in China. So I think the birth date of water supply and drainage specialty in Lanzhou Jiaotong University should be from August 1925, and next year 2005 should be the 80th anniversary. This is a good way to attract jade. Welcome everyone to discuss together. It is suggested that some veteran comrades can be hired to listen to their opinions extensively. Wang Naizhong, a retired teacher in our school, is now a retired teacher in Lanzhou, Li, Teng Lanzhen, Xu Nianzeng and Zhang Boxin, retired teachers in Lanzhou, and now she is in Shanghai. Mr. Wang, a retired teacher in our school, is now a retired teacher in Shanghai, Chen Li, a retired teacher in East China Jiaotong University, Cai Xinsheng, a retired teacher in Nanchang, Xu, a retired teacher in Beijing, a retired teacher in our school, a student in Shanghai, Wang Yiju, a senior engineer, Tang 53, the First Design Institute and Li Lianxian. 53 students are now senior engineers of the First Design Institute, Mr. Tang Lan, 58 students are now retired teachers of our college, and 58 students are now retired teachers of Lanzhou Institute of Environment.
