The school was founded on September 28th in the thirty-second year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (1906) and was named Baoding Government Middle School. In the third year of the Republic of China (19 14), the school was renamed the sixth middle school in Zhili Province. In the 17th year of the Republic of China (1928), the school was renamed as No.6 Middle School in Hebei Province.
