"Six Steps to Popularize Law" is a special legal term in China, which refers to the five-year legal popularization work put forward and deployed by Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, the Ministry of Justice and the National Legal Popularization Office in 2006.

On July 26th, 2006, in order to thoroughly implement the Fifth Five-Year Plan of Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China and the Ministry of Justice on Promoting Legal Publicity and Education among Citizens forwarded by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council and the Resolution on Strengthening Legal Publicity and Education adopted by the 10th the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC), implement the spirit of the 6th National Conference on Legal Publicity and Education, and push the legal publicity and education work closer to the grassroots and the masses, Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, the Ministry of Justice and the National Law Popularization Office jointly issued the "Notice on Launching the Six Laws" (No.48 [2006] of Sifatong), and decided to extensively carry out the activities of law entering organs, villages, communities, schools, enterprises and units, and set off a new upsurge in the whole society by carrying out various legal publicity and education activities that people like.
