In September, 20021year, Shanxi Provincial Department of Education announced to the public that according to the investigation opinions of the expert group of administrative examination and approval of colleges and universities in Shanxi Province, the Provincial Department of Education planned to report to the provincial government for approval to establish Lvliang Normal University.
On February 30th, 2002112, Shanxi Province issued the Reply on Agreeing to Establish Lvliang Teachers College, agreeing that Lvliang Institute of Education, Lvliang University Lishi Teachers College and Lvliang University Fenyang Teachers College should be merged to form Lvliang Teachers College. The school is positioned as a vocational and technical university, which mainly trains pre-school education and primary education teachers at the junior college level.
On February 15, 2023, the General Office of the Ministry of Education issued the Letter on Publishing and Implementing the Record List of Colleges and Universities in 2022, and newly established Lvliang Normal University.
