Dalian University of Technology, referred to as "Dagong", located in Dalian, Liaoning Province, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). The Ministry of Education and the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense have jointly established universities, and the Ministry of Education, Liaoning Province and Dalian City have jointly established universities, national "double first-class" universities and national "985 Project" and "2 1 1 Project" universities.
The school, formerly known as Dalian University Institute of Technology, was founded in April 1949. 1in July, 950, the establishment of Dalian University was abolished, and the Institute of Technology of Dalian University was independent from Dalian Institute of Technology; 1988 changed its name to Dalian University of Technology in March.
