National Southwest Associated University consists of Peking University, Tsinghua University and Nankai University.

Diversified academic system

National Southwest Associated University has a four-year academic system, except for Teachers College. The educational practice in normal colleges is one year, the educational system is five years, and the specialized courses in normal colleges are three years. Telecommunications major in engineering colleges graduated in one and a half years, with the nature of short training and respect for the public, and then changed to two-year system. Advanced classes recruit high school graduates and study for one year, mainly to review high school lessons. Those with excellent grades are exempted from the examination and promoted to undergraduate course.

Academic year system and credit system

The school implements the credit system, which stipulates that students must study at school for 4 years, so it is also called academic year system and credit system. Students who have completed 132 credits in four years, passed Party discipline, sports and military training, paid all the required fees, and passed the examination, can graduate and be awarded a bachelor's degree.

Move westward to Kunming

1938 In mid-February, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Changsha Temporary University moved to Kunming in three ways. 1938 changed its name to National Southwest Associated University in April.

1946 On May 4th, National Southwest Associated University held a graduation ceremony, which was announced on July 30th, March. Peking University, Tsinghua University and Taibai Nankai University moved back to their original sites, and the Teachers College was set up independently in Kunming and renamed as the National Kunming Teachers College. 1984, Kunming Normal University was renamed Yunnan Normal University.
