Kohler's Epiphany Theory of Lattice Psychology
In the decades after the establishment of Gestalt Psychology, its theory has been applied to learning, problem solving, thinking, psychological development and personality formation, and some corresponding theories or viewpoints have been formed. On learning, Kohler put forward the famous epiphany theory. Epiphany theory emphasizes that learning is the mastery of relationship, and mastering this relationship is the process of understanding. Gestalt school believes that thinking is epiphany, which has three characteristics: (1) sudden change of behavior; (2) immediate and long-term recurrence; (3) It is easy to migrate to other similar situations. Epiphany is an integrated response to the whole stimulus, and its task is to restore the integrity of the defective gestalt to maintain balance. These viewpoints are aimed at the thinking theory of associative psychology. In his last work, Creative Thinking, wertheimer studied the thinking process from children solving geometric problems to Einstein's theory of relativity, which was his attempt to solve different problems from people of different ages to support Gestalt's thinking theory. Kaufka, on the other hand, used the principle of Gestalt Psychology to discuss the psychological development of children, and published Psychological Development at 192 1, putting forward the personality theory. These have played an important role in the popularization of Gestalt psychology.

Wertheimer, Kohler and Kaufka also started their school's Psychological Research magazine at 192 1. Among the three, wertheimer is the original advocate of Gestalt Psychology. His works are not many, but they have great influence. Kaufka has the largest collection of books among the three; Kohler was the youngest and later became the most authoritative spokesperson of the school. The influential psychologists of Gestalt Psychology School include Lei Wen.

Gestalt psychology influenced many psychological fields at that time and later, such as gestalt therapy in clinical psychology; The emerging cognitive psychology in 1960s also absorbed some viewpoints of Gestalt psychology, especially the results of thinking research. In the field of perceptual research, Gestalt's view is still dominant. However, in contemporary psychology, Gestalt School is no longer an independent school, but its thoughts and views have penetrated into many fields of contemporary psychology.
