Brief introduction of Fengtai county

The terrain of Fengtai County inclines from northwest to southeast, with an altitude ranging from 40 ~ 19.45 meters, and the natural ground ratio drops to1/7000 ~1/0000. Due to the influence of river changes, interactive sedimentation, erosion and accumulation in the early stage of Huanghuai and human activities, the geomorphological characteristics of "big flat and small uneven" have been formed. North of Huaihe River, the ground is flat and wide; Along the banks of Huaihe River and Xifeihe River, sediment was deposited due to the rising water level in previous flood seasons, forming a "flood plain" (that is, low-lying bay land) of 0.5 to 2 kilometers.

At the junction of Xifeihe River and Huaihe River, the flood peak of Huaihe River overflowed to the southwest in flood season, and was washed repeatedly, which made the river surface expand, widen and silted shallowly, forming the mouth of Dongfeng Lake. Surrounded by chemical deposits in the flooded area of Huaihe River, Jiaogang Lake has formed a typical "Niuyuekaochao" depression. To the south of Jiaogang Lake is a natural dike, which is a gentle slope deposited by the frequently flooded Huaihe River with sediment. The south bank of Huaihe River is connected with the Jianghuai hills, and there are limestone residual hills in some areas. The ridge is a low hill type with denudation structure from east to west.
