Shangluo Vocational and Technical College, founded in 2005, is a comprehensive full-time public higher vocational college approved by Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, put on record by the Ministry of Education and jointly managed by Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education and Shangluo Municipal People's Government. The College is located at the cultural intersection of Qin Chu, and enjoys the reputation of "Shangluo is the most beautiful in Qinling" and "the climate health capital of China". Its predecessor was Shangluo Normal School with a history of 100 years and Shangluo Health School, a provincial and ministerial key secondary school with a history of more than 70 years. The college has been successively rated as a provincial "civilized campus", a provincial "safe campus", a key construction project school supported by the central government, a pilot project school of the action plan for innovation and development of higher vocational education of the Ministry of Education, and a pilot project school for comprehensive professional reform in Shaanxi Province.
The college now enrolls 25 three-year higher vocational majors, 7 five-year consistent higher vocational majors and 10 five-year continuous higher vocational majors, forming seven major professional groups, including medicine, nursing, education, finance and economics, electromechanical, architecture and automobile. Seven provincial-level key majors (nursing, clinical medicine, primary education, preschool education, mechatronics technology, construction engineering management and medical imaging technology) have been built, and three majors (nursing, clinical medicine and preschool education) have been supported by the central government. The Ministry of Education has determined 1 key majors (clinical medicine) and/kloc-0 in the Action Plan for Innovative Development of Higher Vocational Education. There are 3 provincial-level "first-class specialty" training projects and 3 provincial-level professional comprehensive reform pilot projects (clinical medicine, nursing and preschool education). The college has two teaching units: nursing department, medical department, normal education department, mechanical and electrical engineering department, public course teaching department, ideological and political department and physical education department.
The college actively explores the pattern of integration of production and education and diversified school-enterprise cooperation, and promotes enterprises to deeply participate in collaborative education. Established an "order-based" relationship with a number of listed companies and key enterprises in the industry to cultivate school-enterprise cooperation. In the past two years, it has carried out in-depth cooperation with Chongqing Dechet, Chengdu Yunhua, Hubei Chongrui and Shaanxi Huashan Group, and explored the establishment of four mixed-ownership secondary colleges; Together with Xi 'an International Medical Investment Co., Ltd., three kinds of "pre-job intensive training courses" were established, together with Japanese Nursing Support Association, a "Chinese-foreign orientation training course for geriatric health care" was established, an intention of cooperation and exchange of medical rehabilitation specialty was reached with Daegu University, and a talent training base was established with Shaanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and China Geo University (Wuhan) to continuously expand the specialty types of the college and lay a solid foundation for students' future career development.
