China Communication University, located in Chaoyang District, is a top university directly under the Ministry of Education. It is one of the first universities listed as "double first-class" and a key university under "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform".

The predecessor of China Communication University can be traced back to 1954' s training course for technicians of China Central Broadcasting Bureau. At that time, knowledge and skills were regarded as the key to national progress.
